Myla Childers (Erath) county is part of a science group called Workforce Industry Training. Recently, Myla demonstrated her group project on electrocoagulation to 5th and 6th grade students at Gilbert Middle School. Using a glass jar, batteries, aluminum foil or hobby wire, wire leads and dirty water Myla showed students how electricity is used to settle out suspended particles in water before it enters cooling towers. This is a terrific, visual demonstration for kids of all ages!
I have created a 4-H Explore Guide titled "Water Filtration and Electrocoagulation" that is listed under 'Water Education Resources" menu on the blog. The direct link to the project book is https://texas4-h.tamu.edu/wp-content/uploads/explore_waterguide_electro_cooagulation_july2018.pdf.
