Bailey Halbert Highlights Ambassador Program at Local Meetings

Bailey Halbert (Brazos Co.) spoke a recent 4-H Brazos County Council meeting where she played a video of the 2018 summer 4-H2O Leadership Academy. Bailey taught an audience of varied ages about how to become a water ambassador, some of her experiences through the program so far, the highlights of this program, and her Leadership Academy experience. She also explained a few water concepts, such as water testing, wastewater treatment, and water reuse.

Bailey presents at Brazos Co. 4-H Council Meeting.

In February, Bailey also presented to the local 4-H Horticulture group meeting. She explained to elementary and middle school students the definition of an aquifer, the purpose of an aquifer, the different types of aquifers, and how aquifers function. To demonstrate the functions of an aquifer, Bailey instructed the students on how to make a model of aquifers with materials, such as Play-Doh, sand, and small gravel rocks. These materials were used to show layers of and around aquifers. It was a fun experience for all!

Bailey leads an aquifer activity to local 4-H Horticulture club.
